clouds will increase to the north. there could be light rain up toward mendocino county and lake county. to the cooler. steve mcqueen the great escape. and much colder. thank you, dave. and then on wednesday. patchy fog though. some of that on the bridges could relouis visibility. here comes that system. this could deliver some light rain up to the mendocino county north. this these will look down right warm. this is a very dynamic system. does not have a lot of moisture with it. it has a ton of cold air with it. today we see mostly sunny to partly cloudy. the wind will pick up. a little cooler today and much, much cooler to colder tomorrow. highs today 50s and low to mid 60s. steve, good morning. right now traffic is actually doing pretty well to start off this monday morning. we are suspecting a lot of people will be back. the fog is a little bit of an

issue here. coming across. it will be slightly lower visibility than we are normally used to seeing here. also we are looking at san francisco northbound 101 approaching the 80 split. that traffic looks good getting out to the lower deck of the bay bridge. we are looking at the nimitz freeway as well. the traffic there is moving along very nicely. i want to mention highway 4 is beginning to slow. nothing major just yet as you push out to the main part of oakland the traffic on 580 and 880 looks good. let's go back to the desk. a play station four is the focus of a deadly shooting and now under investigation in san francisco. police say it started with an internet ad and ended with gunfire. tara moriarty is live outside the hall of justice with the details of what happened. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. the victim's girlfriend was interviewed for hours last week trying to provide them with any clues as to who may have done this. we also know that police spent a great deal of time canvassing

the neighborhood and surveillance video. all of this happened around 3:30. obviously the victim and his girlfriend drove to the bay view district in an industrial section in their suv to sell the newly released play station four to someone who had answered an online ad. sources tell ktvu news he was accosted and demanded the video system. even when he surrendered it the 22-year-old victim was shot several times. >> they obviously drove away from the scene as soon as they could and they were able to get ahold of a police officer who gave them aid and called for an ambulance. >> reporter: the victim and his girlfriend from hayes valley ever ended up in bay shore. the woman was not hurt but the man died in san francisco. they advertised the game system on instagram hoping to make a profit. later we almost talk to police

to see if they can provide us with any clues on who may have done this. tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. also a warning from vallejo police this morning about staying alert at atm's after three robberies in one week. alex savidge is joining us now with a warning and why its especially important this time of year. alex. >> reporter: during the holidays of course a lot of people are taking out a lot of extra cash to do their shopping. that is why police are warning people to make sure to end their atm transaction before they walk away from the machine. yesterday a woman was robbed here at this bank of america on sonoma boulevard after she left her account open. that same scenario is played out three different times at banks here. yesterday's crime actually turned violent. the victim was taking out money around 2:30 in the afternoon when she noticed a man at the

atm next her. the victim realized she hadn't closed out her tank action. she tried to stop the man but police say the man grabbed her by the neck, pinned her against the wall as she took out cash from her account and took off. >> during the holidays, across the board you see an increase in attempted robberies and robberies. we've seen that here in vallejo and if you are going to go out and conduct atm transactions, its always best to have someone with you and make sure you do it in the daytime. its just good practice. and always be aware of your surroundings. >> reporter: it doesn't appear the same person is responsible for all three of these similar crimes that have happened over the past week. but the message certainly for everyone is to stay alert and make sure that your transaction is finished and shut down before you walk away from that atm. live this morning in vallejo alex savidge ktvu channel 2

news. we have more details now about this atm scam called shoulder surfing. in october ktvu news reported on a scam in san francisco that cost some bank of america customers thousands of dollars. police recovered $11,000 from one suspect arrested in this scam. bank of america says it knows about the scam. it is working with law enforcement on ways to deal with this problem. new this morning earthquakes here in the bay area two little ones in the southern edge of santa clara county. a magnitude 3.7 hit south of gilroy. it was downgraded from an initial 3.9. then about a half hour later there was a second one. a 2.5 in the same area. so far there is no word of any damages of injuries. oakland police are serging for a suspect in a deadly overnight shooting. police say a man was shot

outside around 10:00. it was the city of oakland's 84th homicide of the year and police are asking witnesses to come forward. we have new information now about the man who was hit and killed by a car friday night near the dunn bar ton bridge. police say he was walking on the east bay side of the bridge when he was hit by a westbound car. investigators say alcohol was not a factor for the driver. it still isn't clear why he was walking along the bridge. time is 5:07. the a-gender teenager that was set on fire along an oakland bus may be back in school as early as today. sasha fleischman came home on tuesday after spending 24 days in a burn unit. the teenager was attacked three weeks ago when sleeping on an ac transit bus when the skirt sasha was wearing was set on fire.

the boy that admitted to setting sasha on fire is still in jail. meanwhile this youtube video led to calls for a public meeting. the transgender student reported being bullied before this fight. bullying and violence won't be accepted and tonight's public meeting will be held at the middle school in richmond at 6:30 tonight. a new planned parenthood clinic set up to open today on the peninsula is not being welcomed by everyone who lives in the area. the new clinic will be located in redwood city. it will be initially 2078 hours a week and -- 20 hours a week and provide primary health care and abortions. residents are circulating a petition to get it removed. the unions involved in a contract dispute with bart say they might sue this week.

the san francisco examiner reports the unions are pursuing possible legal action and they could file a lawsuit soon or maybe go on strike again. last month bart's board of director granted six weeks of paid family medical leave. union leaders claim it was there all along. they say what the board did is illegal. later today we may see the work under way on sfo terminal three just in time for the busy holiday travel season. the new boarding area at the terminal is due to open in january. it will have ten gaits for -- ten gates for united airlines and a lot of luxury amenities. they will have high-tech interactive displays along with local dining and shopping and even a sustainable design. the luxury lounge in the terminal is due to open next summer. we may finally know google's plans for a mysterious barge that is being built near treasure island. the san francisco chronicle reports google may be planning

to open a floating retail store. google reportedly plans to build three of the barges at treasure island and dock them in san francisco, los angeles, and new york. each barge would be used to display google products including google glass computer eye ware. amazon customers will receive deliveries from unmanned drone. the retail giant is testing out a new delivery service called prime air. the program would deliver packages with what looks like a toy helicopter. the idea is to deliver a package within 30 minutes o ever an order. they can carry shipments that weigh up to five pounds but amazon says the drones won't be ready for another four or five years. >> can you imagine that? if you are not expecting it and see it zooming ward your house? >> yeah. we are getting new information about a two-year- old boy rescued from a near drowning in vallejo. what police are saying about his condition and prospects for

welcome back. time now 5:13. investigators want to know the cause of a firey car crash that killed paul walker over the weekend. the actors publicist says walker's friend was driving the poor ere power -- driving the porshe. it crashed into a tree and burst into flames. >> he's a family oriented kind of guy. really humble. sweet guy. everyone loves the movies. its just devastating. >> and he was well known as a nice guy. investigators say speed was a factor in this crash. a yellow honda sports car was seen parked near the crash site.

the speculation it may have been racing the porshe but authorities haven't confirmed that yet. paul walker was in the area to attend a charity event for victims of the typhoon in the philippines. actor ty's gibb son there overcome with tears. he costarred with walker in the fast and furious movies. he went to the crash site yesterday. he placed a single rose at the site. and also took home a piece of the wreckage and later posted a photo of it online. federal investigators will examine a new york commuters train data recorder to try to determine what caused it to derail killing four people and injuring more than 60 others. a loco motive was pushing seven passenger cars around the curve when the whole train left the tracks. the force of the impact isn't passengers flying. three of the four people that died were outside the train. it has not yet spoke ton the

traffic does look pretty good. traffic is a little slow already if you are driving on highway will in the antioch construction area. watch for slow traffic in this area right here. for the most part it is a nice drive still. let's go to steve. sal, that highway four is a bear. i'm telling you. it doesn't matter what time of day with all that construction. >> in 2015 it will be done. >> i'll be in a home by then. >> transition day today we have very thick fog. this is being pushed in advance of a cold front. i do mean cold to the north. sot cooling begins a little bit today. really kicks in tomorrow and much, much colder. there will be lows probably in the 20s as we head inland as we head toward wednesday and thursday. you can see some of that fog leading edge of that front just to the north. could give a little bit of rain in mendocino county. partly cloudy skies to the north bay.

36 fairfield. there is cold readings. 40s for others. 29 up in tahoe. unfortunately cold systems don't hold a lot of moisture. when you see pockets like that, that is really cold air. by the time it arrives here there is not any in the way of presip. five to ten degrees cooler tomorrow. the wind will pick up later today as the front goes through. and the cold air plunges in. some inland temps will be in the upper 40s. this will definitely be a pattern where san francisco is warmer than santa rosa. but then watch as it brings in cold cover. partly to mostly cloudy. here comes the cold air behind that. fog, some of that sun and cooler today. clouds will move into the north bay. highs today will be in the 50s

paulson. definitely patches of fog out there. >> some thick fog. i hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving. we are back to reality here with a very quiet weather pattern. today we will have mostly sunny skies. a little bit cooler. much cooler tomorrow and i mean colder. very much colder wednesday into thursday. usually with cold patterns unfortunately you don't get a lot of rain out there. you are getting fog in advance of this cold front. cloudy and 38 up in ukiah. i don't think they all get very warm today. the system count have a lot of moisture here. it does have some up to the pacific northwest. 30s and 40s. 32 novato. 44 san jose. still some 40s. you can see the moisture up there. we are really going to get the cold air. that starts a little bit tonight. five to ten degrees cooler. we will go from the 70s on sunday to about the upper 40s as we head toward wednesday. now again the big news will be

consul. tara moriarty is at the hall of justice this morning with information from the victim's girlfriend. it sounds like she saw the whole thing. >> reporter: that is right. so police worked through the night interviewing her. trying to gain some sort of description. and its just shocking to know that somebody would be willing to kill somebody over a video gaming system. police have spent a great deal of time canvassing the neighborhood. look for surveillance video. video they hope will lead to an arrest. all of this happened yesterday around 3:30 in the afternoon. so broad daylight. the victim and his girlfriend drove to an industrial area in their suv to sell the newly released play station four top someone who answered an online ad. the 22-year-old victim was shot several times and killed. the couple had advertised the new ps4 on instagram hoping like many sellers to make a few

hundred dollars profit on the popular gaming system but meeting a stranger through instagram to make any deal holds obvious dangers. >> i don't know if its unique to play station or anything else. just people do robberies and i don't know why this one transpired but we'll do all we can to investigate it. >> reporter: after he had been shot the victim and his girlfriend ended up a few blocks away from bay shore boulevard. the woman was not hurt but the man died at san francisco general hospital. the victim's puppy was also found alive in the car. coming up later this morning, we hope to talk to police to see where they stand in the investigation. live in san francisco i'm tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. new this morning police say a two-year-old who fell into a creek is making a strong recovery and off life sport and fully functioning. family members say the two-year- old fell into the water at blue rock springs creek after let's see saturday afternoon while fishing with his grandmother.

rescue crews rushed the child to the hospital in critical condition but now say he is likely to make a full recovery. they credit the child's age and the temperature of water with saving his life. >> if the water is cold enough, then it also puts them into a state of shock. it actually preserves the cardiac and brain function. >> rescuers also say if the child hadn't been wearing a white shirt, it would have been much more difficult to spot him in that water. reports of an off duty firefighter that helped pull people to safety after a bad car fire. take a look at video of a tow truck hauling away the burned out volkswagen beetle yesterday morning. the car burst into flames near the highway 24 connector. the fire blocked the connector but no one was hurt. the hallways of a belmont apartment building a smoky mess from a garbage fire. it started late last night in

the garbage can at the bottom of a garbage shoot. the smoke went up the shoot to the second and third floors. firefighters put out the flames before it could spread too far beyond that garbage can. later on today planned parenthood opens up a new clinic on the peninsula. this one will offer primary health care and abortion services. janine de la vega is live near redwood city. you are saying some of the nearby residents are not happy about this opening janine. >> reporter: yeah. the clinic is located here on main street on elle camino royal. antiabortion activists are not happy its here. the clinic will be opened 20 hours a week and provide primary health care and abortions. there was plans to open one up years ago but there were protests against it. this one has set off public

outcry again against some residents that have circulated a petition to get the clinic moved. they say planned parenthood will decrease property values and adversely effect nearby businesses. the petition is addressed to the property owner since planned parenthood is leasing it from him. but as of now it appears the clinic is here to stay since the land is zoned for commercial use. and back out here live there is still not a sign up indicating this will be a planned parenthood. while it was reported to open up today, its still unclear. we reached out to planned parenthood through remail, we have -- through e-mail we have not heard from them yet. a memorial with flowers and pictures was created for 13- year-old andy lopez near the spot where he was shot.

he was killed when the deputy mistakenly thought the toy gun he was carrying was a real weapon. the press democrat reports that supervisors are mulling a few ideas including a park in the moreland avenue neighborhood where lopez grew up. the numbers are in for the thanksgiving holiday dui crash down. they actively patrolled the roads looking for impaired drivers. according to the chp they arrested nearly 200 people around the bay area. 1073 people were arrested statewide. the man in charge of fixing the healthcare.gov website says his team did their job and now they have met their goal. the website is have reach 50,000 people simultaneously.

>> the bottom line healthcare.gov on december 1st is night and day from where it was on october 1st. >> now the next major test of healthcare.gov is probably going to come during the next couple of weeks. a serge in enrollment is expected near the december 23rd deadline to get coverage for the new year. >> president obama will mark the 25th anniversary of world aids day with a seat at the white house this morning. the president released a problem claymation in honor of world aid day which was yesterday. the president said because of advances in treatment, and aids free generation is within our reach. president is scheduled to speak at 10:20 this morning. dozens of people came together yesterday at the aids memorial grove in san francisco to remember loved ones lost. the event marked the 25th anniversary of world aids day. phil wilson the founder of the black aids institute was honored at the ceremony.

in his speech he spoke about the importance of awareness and the promise he made to his partner who died in 1989. >> the last thing i said to him before he took his last breath was i will be in this fight until its over. but it is not over. it is not over. >> the cdc reports african americans make up about 14% of the u.s. population but they represent 44% of new hiv cases. time is 5:40. same sex couples in hawaii lined up to billion the first to get married after midnight last night. that is when a new law allowing same sex marriage there. hawaii's marriage law allows couples to register for a license and be married the same day. that is a process that caters to tourists.

the martinez public safety -- some residents complained about the smell and odor of big outdoor marijuana growing operations in their neighborhoods. they found the growers were legally authorized to grow medical marijuana. cold weather shelters are opening tonight in the south bay before the temperatures you heard steve they almost dip into the 30s. three shelters in santa clara county are due to open at 6:00. ehc life builders that is a group working to end homelessness say they will provide 275 beds in sunnyvale, san jose, and gilroy. they are reserving some of the beds for veterans and people willing to enter their programs. more than 7500 homeless people live until santa clara county. big changes for travelers at sfo. when we could get a look at improvements under way on terminal three. also a ninth body has been found in the wreckage there of

time is 5:44. a ninth body has been recovered in scotland in a wreckage of a helicopter that crashed down on a pub. rescue crews are getting ready to lift the remains of the helicopter after that building. they are make their time removing the wreckage because the building itself could

possibly collapse. >> within five seconds the whole place engulfed in dust. people couldn't breathe or see. it was horrific. i feel so sorry. >> people have been coming from all over to put flowers at the scene of the hotel next to the crash site. right now 12 people are still in the hospital. meantime this morning the ntsb has started its investigation into a small plane crash in southwest alaska. this happened friday night near the town of st. mary's after the plane was reported missing earlier in the day. four people includes an infant were killed. six more were hurt. investigators say its too early to know the exact cause of the crash. survivors are being questioned. three people have been detained for questioning after a man died in the parking lot of arrow head stadium in kansas city. that incident happened last night after the kansas city chiefs lost to the denver broncos. now police say it did not involve fans from opposing
